"Hey Cloud, Can I talk to you for a minute?" A raven haired man asked a passing blond grunt. They turned and nodded with a unusual bright smile. The blond took his helmet off and held it at his side, "Whats up?"
"I-I.." The raven began, rubbing his neck with one hand and blushing red. The smaller blond staring at him stranegly, "Z-Zack? Are you feeling alright?" He asked, pressing a hand to Zack's forehead and cheek. The SOILDER opretive jumped away a step or two, shaking conciderabely. "Don't... Cloud I..." The blond smiled at him and rubbed Zack's head softly with one gloved over palm."It'll be okay! Don't worry and you can tell me later when you feel better, M'kay?" He smiled brightly. "This won't get better with time!" The raven declared, taking a hold of Cloud's hand and holding it like it was a glass teardrop.
Delicate and loving.
The blond jumped, looking at Zack with fair blue eyes, "Zack..?" he asked. The SOILDER closed both mako green eyes and breathed for a moment. "Look Cloud.. I kind of... Not even kind of. I do. I really do..like you. A whole lot. And...I can't let anyone else have you! No one can love you like I can.... No one can protect you like I can.. No one can care for you like I do." He cried out, "I'm sorry if your mad at me but I can't control this feeling anymore than I have! I'm sorry fo you to have to find out this way but I'm not sorry for loving you!" He shouted. Cloud was flinching slightly, but in a soft and good way. Something told Zack that Cloud was listening now, but the raven soon reluctently dropped his hand. Zack Fair rubbed his head in irratation. "Look Cloud... I'm sorry..."
Cloud was blank. You see, Zack Fair loved Cloud. Loved him more than he had anyone else, and wished he would feel the same way. So Aerith had told him maybe it was best to confess his feelings before Cloud was gone. The blond haired and blue eyed SOILDER member stared at the raven, blushing madly. "A-About what I said...We-we can j-just forget about i-it.. I-I don't want to loose y-you e-e-e-even ...as a friend." Zack shuddered, feeling a uncomfortable wave of weakness work it's ways on him. "I-I really don't.."
Cloud stared again, his feelings welling around inside of him as angry and powerful as a tornado would be inside his stomach. It kept flipping, allowing no answer to escape his lips to comfort Zack.
It was a long akward silence before Zack walked away first, face covered by a palm and a sigh as he left Cloud alone. The blond turned to face the wall, crossing his arms and sitting against it. Knees out infront of him, why did Zack run away like he wasn't proud of himself? Only one name repeated itself in his mind. Zack....Zack...Zack...?
Cloud returned to The Slums Church, to talk to Aerith and see her opinion on his problem. Luckily, She was there and smiling at his arrival, "Hello Cloud. How's your day?" She asked, flinging some brow hair behind her shoulder as Cloud walked in and set his stuff down on a bench. "Not very good." He admitted, sitting down next to the big patch of flowers. There was a large hole in the roof that allowed sunlight in to reach some flowers growing in the middle of the church. He played with one of them with a finger, being slow so it wouldn't bother Aerith.
"Oh? Whats wrong Cloud?" She asked, sitting beside him and watching his finger nervously.
"Yeah. He told me he loved me. Then he walked off and said sorry." Cloud said, feeling Aerith wrap her soft arms around his neck from behind. "Are you sure that Zack's the problem and not the solution?" She asked, smiling. The blond stared at her, "Solution? What're you talk about?" He asked. Aerith let go and smiled at him, "Well... some people are lovers. Some are to be loved. Some are loved even though they don't know it to be so. I think Zack loves you, and you aren't sure how to repsond to such a situation." She replied, "because you've been a hard working country boy from what I hear from the flowers. You've never had time for romance, have you? So you were accustumed to be alone. Zack must've seen through all that and knew that you needed someone." She said again, stroking a red flower petal.
"Oh... maybe your right." Cloud thought aloud, causing Aerith to look at him and smile softly. "Really?" She asked, looking towards a certain bench in the back of the church. Cloud noticed this, "Why are you looking at that bench, Aerith?" He asked, getting up to stare at it akwardly before seeing a spike arise form the back.
The SOILDER rose form the bench, blushing and walking towards the other group with a sigh. "I heard everything Cloud.. I'm sorry that I caused you so much remorse..." He said. Cloud flinched, "N-No! Y-You didn't! I've just been so alone all my life and I didn't know what to say to you afterwards! If I hurt you so badly I apologize... but I might just.." Zack looked at him funny, but with a hope filled look on his face, but before Cloud could finish, he turned away form the other two. "I..just.." Before he could finish again, two strong arms wrapped around Cloud's shoulder. They kept pulling him into a body which was somehow warm and comforting to the smaller. It was Zack who held Cloud to him, the blond's face in his chest. The older snuggeled his face into the smaller's spiky blond hair and half lowered his eyes, "It'll all be okay." he cooed softly, rubbing the smaller's back soothingly.
All the younger could do was spill out his feelings for Zack, all the love. Emotion. And friendship. All of it spilled out like tears, one after another, nonstopping. And Zack listened to them all, not moving and taking each word to memory. Aerith watched them both, from the bench, a smile on her face.
