ZxC- Chocobo Catching

"Freaking Chocobos!"

A raven teenager flopped into the rassy hillside, dissapointed in his actions and angry at the warking chocobo infront of him. As many times as he tried, that chocobo always got away from him! Every single freaking time! The chocobo "warked" again before fluttering its wings at it's sides, taunting the teenager more. Zack merley glared at the chocobo, hands behind him to cushion his head and his body was sprawled out otherwise. The raven wore a clean but stained white tee shirt and a pair of blue jeans with a black and white belt to match his brown boots. Why had he offered to help round up Chocobo's in the first place?! He looked like a moron running around after a chocobo! Because thats exactly what he was doing!!

"Fine, you win! Stupid bird..."

The chocobo warked more, cranning its neck to turn around and wark louder as someone approched the two beings. Zack blinked, sitting up on his elbows to stare at another teenaer beside the chocobo. The teen was dressed exactly like him but he wore black jeans instead of blue, he also had bright blue eyes and sunshine dyed hair that spiked in every direction.

"... I"ve never seen anyone look so dumb before. I'd beleive working with chocobos requires you to be.. you know.. smart?" The teenager crossed his arms, staring at Zack in the grass. "Are you saying I'm dumb?" Zack asked, sitting up straight to stare up at the blond handeler. The blond rolled his eyes, "Good your not deaf too."

"You're so rude."

"No one said I wasn't. Now seriously, get these chocobo's back to the stables! Its almost dark out and we should count them all back at the farm. We don't want to be loosing one with this kind of sky." the blond said, noting the grey and clouded sky above them. Zack snorted and leaned backwards to flip up to his feet. The blond jumped back in suprise. "What?" Zack asked, "never seen a trick like that?"

"..." the blond blinked, this guy and his sharp tongue! "No honestly."

"Hm... help me catch a chocobo and I'll teach you how to do that!" Zack grinned, trying to bargain with the younger blond. The teen stared for a moment before nodding, "Okay okay... watch me closely." He said. zack nodded, sitting down on the grass again and crossing his legs to put his hands in his lap. "Yes!"

The blond teen lifted his hand out to the chocobo, holding a sort of substance inside his palm that the chocobo stared at. It ook a moment before the chocobo walked over to the teenager and started eating from his hand. "What are those?" Zack asked the teen, refereing to the substance. "Gyhsahl Greens." The younger answered, "Chocobos love this and its used to tame them easier."

"Ahah." Zack said. "Thats why you couldn't catch one!' the blond giggled, "You didn't have any did you? Every chocobo handeler has to have some with them- its essential." he explained more. Zack felt red colors creep into his cheeks, about 10 diffrent chades of pink crossed his face by the 8 second mark.

"A-Anyway..." Zack rubbed the back of his neck as the blond looked at him. "Yes?"

"Whats yo-your name?" Zack asked, quietly. The blond blinked, "Uh.. Cloud. Cloud Strife." Cloud, Zack thought, a fitting name for those sky blue eyes. He smiled, "It fits you. Your hair is like the sun and your eyes could very easily be the sky." He grinned by the end at Cloud's blush. "I-I-I.. I.. T-Thanks...?"

"Your very welcome." he said in a smooth voice, looking at the chocobo then at his new friend. "Hey. I better show you how to flip up before it gets too dark to try." zack noticed, Cloud nodding and laying down on the grass along with Zack. "Okay teach me."

"Right." Zack said, spending the next 15 minutes with Cloud was fun, teaching him out to flip up with his hands. It took the little handeler a couple of tries but he finally got the hang of the instructions, finally doing it just like Zack had done. The raven haired man clapped, "Good job, Cloud! You're a natural."

"Natural? At what exactly?"

"Hm.. doing that flip was really easy for you, wasn't it? " Zack asked happily, smiling at the youth. Cloud nodded, "Y-Yeah..." he said, then he jumped. "Oh man Zack we're late! We've gotta hurry to get this chocobo back to the farm now!" Cloud began freaking out, grabbing the chocobo's harness. Twilight was falling.

"Right Right." Zack said, running ahead with Cloud and the chocobo right on his heels. The whole time they ran back to the farm, they didn't stop to take a breath. Finally, the farm came into sight and they made it right on time with 3 minutes to spare thanks to the running episode. Soon, the farmer counted the chocobos, told Zack and Cloud to go home, and left them. Cloud couldn't help but grin a little, "Right on time.."

"Yup. Good thing too! Sephiroth would have my body on his Masamune if I lost a chocobo!" Zack joked, laughing with Cloud who was doing the same thing. Almost on cue, Zack was tapped on the shoulder by a taller man with silver hair and a SOILDER 1st class uniform on."How many chocobos did you manage to loose?" The man asked immedetly, as if he didn't beleive Zack could round them all up. Cloud blinked, "huh?" Zack laughed, "Seph- I got them all!"

"Did you?  If you did then.. wait.... how many are dead?"

"None!"

"I never thoguht you could actually round up 20 chocobos in a day. I knew you could do it but I didn't think it would take only a day! I thought... 4 at least!" Sephiroth said in amazement. Zack grinned, "Oh yeah- Idid it- I did it- I did it~" he sang, dancing a little victory spin. Cloud giggled, nodding to them both. "Zack- Sephiroth- I gotta go." he said, winking at them both and turned to run into town.

"... I guess you aren't half bad at catching chocobos, are you Fair?" Sephiroth asked. Zack jumped to turn to glare at the General. "Eh?!" he gaped. Sephiroth chuckeled, crossing his arms to smirk, "That one you just let get away... what was his name?"

"Cloud."

"Right Right. Seems to me like you've got a pretty good pet to keep up with. You might want to mark that Chocobo before you loose him~" Zack almost gagged as Sephiroth continued to laugh.
